1. TERMS
Absolutely In-Tuned!, a company registered in Singapore, provides matching services to adults and children who are looking for a music tutor. Any service that we or our assigned tutors provide will be subject to the following terms & conditions.
2. FOR TUTORS AND STUDENTS
2.1 Personal Data Protection Act [PDPA]
In compliance with the government policy on promoting a balance between the need to protect your personal data while enabling the organisation to use such data for business purposes, please let us have your explicit consent to receive information regarding music lessons (e.g. promotional offers, invitations to lessons and other events, etc.) through the email or phone contact that you have provided us.

2.2 Choice – Opt-In/Opt-Out
If you wish to opt-out, please inform us of your choice by email. This site allows visitors to unsubscribe so that they will not receive future messages. After unsubscribing, we will discontinue sending general music-related messages as soon as technically feasible.
3. FOR TUTORS
3.1 Registration Criteria
Registration as a partner/tutor with Absolutely In-Tuned! is free.
You should be at least 18 years old and are a Singapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident, residing in Singapore. The minimum requisite qualification is a Grade 8 in ABRSM or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience. We reserve the rights to reject your application without providing any reason.
3.2 Tutor Profile
You are required to submit and maintain an accurate and up-to-date profile. We will not be responsible for all the contents that you post, upload, email, transfer or lose in your tutor profile.
A tutor profile should provide information which includes: full name, NRIC number, date of birth, gender, photograph, address, contact (email & phone number), bank account details, qualifications and relevant experience as a music teacher as well as area(s) of specialisation and other preferences.

We also reserve the rights to send a copy of your certificates to the prospective students, upon request. We will handle but shall not be liable for any breach of privacy policy by our own coordinators or students that may result in your loss.
3.3 Assignment Requests
We will contact you via SMS, email or phone call upon receipt of any lesson request. If you accept the assignment, please respond with your quote for lesson rate per hour as well as the preferred lesson day, time and venue. You need not respond to the lesson request if you are not available. Prompt response will ensure a better chance of getting the assignment.
Responding to a lesson request, however, does not guarantee that you will be offered the assignment. In the event that you wish to stop receiving lesson requests, please inform us so that we can mark your account as inactive.
3.4 Lesson Assignment Offer and Acceptance
You will receive an offer from us via SMS, email or phone call if your quote has been accepted. Upon accepting the offer, you are expected to commit to a minimum of four (4) lessons and up to 12 lessons (in the case of a 12-lesson promotional sign-up). However, we and/or the students reserve the rights to terminate the lesson at any time and you will be advised of the reason(s) accordingly.
3.5 Fraudulent Act
In the event of any fraudulent act e.g. attempt to lower the commission due to us by offering students lesson discount or inducing early cancellation of assignment, you will be liable to compensate us for our losses and your tutor account will be immediately terminated.
3.6 Commitment Requirements
Upon acceptance of the lesson assignment, you are expected to commit strictly to the agreed lesson schedules, unless the change is initiated by the students. Any postponement or cancellation of lessons by you is therefore strongly discouraged, especially when it is close to the examination period. Although there is no requirement for a tutor to commit beyond the minimum four (4) lessons, or up to 12 lessons in the case of promotional offer, you are encouraged to extend the lesson period if deemed necessary so as to ensure that the students achieve good academic performance.
In the event of any change in schedule due to health reason, please provide medical certificate or other official proof of emergency. If you need to initiate any other change to the arrangement, please consult and seek prior approval from Absolutely In-Tuned! This is to ensure that our coordinator is kept informed and can intervene should any dispute with the students arise.
Failure to abide by the commitment requirements may result in forfeiture of 100% of the lesson fees.
3.7 First Lesson
The first lesson is very important because it will leave a strong impression of you and the agency. Upon acceptance of the offer, you are expected to call the students at least two days before the first lesson to re-confirm the arrangement. You are required to bring your NRIC and original certificates to show the students without request. Failure to attend the first lesson without valid reason(s) will lead to the termination of your tutor account.
3.8 Fees and Charges
Following are the fees and charges payable to Absolutely In-Tuned! for the lesson assignments offered to you:
(a) One-time Referral Fee
50% of the first month’s lesson fees (4 lessons) or
35% of the lesson fees (12-lesson promotional sign-up)
40% of the first month’s lesson fees (4 lessons, where lessons are conducted at teacher’s home/studio)
Absolutely In-Tuned! will collect all fees from the students upon commencement of the assignmentand we will pay you the balance of the respective fees at the end of the first month, provided that you have fulfilled at least three lessons (for the 4-lesson sign-up) or at least five lessons (for the 12-lesson sign-up) respectively.
However, in the event that you are authorised to collect the fees on our behalf, you will undertake to return such fee to us promptly. You may start collecting the lesson fees direct from the students from the 5thor 13th lesson onward respectively.
(b) Trial Lesson
In the event that the students request for the first lesson as Trial Lesson, you have the option to accept or reject such request. However, if you accept the arrangement, you will be paid a pro-rated fee based on the fees chargeable for the total number of lessons per month.While we will try our best to provide the best match between teacher and student, it is our policy to promote positive mindset towards learning, even for the Trial Lesson.
(c) Continuity of Lesson
While we will in our best endeavour screen and refer students who are committed to complete the lessons, we will not be liable for any unforeseen or uninformed lesson postponement or cancellation. In such event, the full referral fee will still be payable to us. However, if there is any change in the lesson frequency or the assignment is prematurely cancelled, we will collect from or pay you the pro-rated amount based on the number of lessons fulfilled.
(d) Fraudulent Act
In the event that the assignment is prematurely terminated and the students subsequently contact you direct to resume the lessons, you are obliged to inform us immediately. Failure to do so will be deemed as a fraudulent act and we reserve the rights to terminate your account as well as inform the students and replace a new tutor without notice.
(e) Postponement / Cancellation / Termination of Assignment
After accepting the lesson offer and you decide to postpone/cancel the assignment before the commencement of the first lesson, you are obliged to inform us by phone and email, giving advance notice of not less than 48 hours before the commencement of the first lesson. An explanation in writing as well as supporting document, where applicable, must be produced. A penalty charge of S$50 will be imposed for failure to notify with sufficient notice.
In the event that you decide to prematurely terminate the assignment before the end of the first month, you are obliged to compensate us for the full referral fee.
If any action, initiated by you after your intention is made known to the students, that results in termination of the lessons by the students before the end of the first month, you will be liable to compensate us for the equivalent of four (4) lesson fees. This will be in addition to the full referral fee due to us.
3.9 Service Commitment
Absolutely In-Tuned! treat each and every lesson assignment seriously and have established measures to ensure quality standard of service that will let our students have memorable learning experience. Therefore, we have high expectation of all our tutors. While penalties will be imposed for poor conduct or lack of commitment to the assignment, rewards will likewise be given to tutors who have displayed positive attitude and receive good feedback. You are free to end the assignment after four or 12 lessons but in our opinion, a responsible tutor will want to commit to the lesson assignment until completion of the student’s examination, if applicable.
3.10 Disclaimer
We are not liable to act as an arbitrator or mediator should any conflict or disagreement arise between you and the students. However, we are always prepared to offer our views and suggestions.
4. FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
4.1 Quality of Service
Absolutely In-Tuned! take great pride in the quality of our music tutors. We select tutors based on their background and proper steps are taken to validate their qualifications and experience. We also have a system in place to help us identify tutors with the best fit, receive feedback and monitor their performance.
Absolutely In-Tuned! guarantee that the assigned tutor will help improve the student’s performance but will not be liable for examination results which could be influenced by factors other than the quality of coaching.
4.2 Contract for Short-term Assignments
“Short-term assignments” refer to a minimum of four (4) lessons. Upon receiving your lesson request via SMS or email, we will assign a tutor and provide quote on fees based on your specific requirements. After confirmation of your acceptance, there is a binding contract for you to complete the four (4) lessons. You may, under special circumstances, request for a change of tutor or terminate the lessons only after the first lesson.
In the event that a postponement that results in cancellation or a cancellation is made during or before the first lesson, pro-rated fee for the first lesson will be charged as administrative fee. Likewise, once a tutor has accepted the assignment, he/she is committed to complete the four (4) lessons without changing the lesson rate and schedule. After completion of the assignment, you and/or the tutor are free to arrange for further lessons, if deemed necessary. We encourage you to feedback to us should any deviation to the arrangement arise.
4.3 Contract for Long-term Assignments
“Long-term assignments” refer to a minimum of 12 lessons. Upon receiving your lesson request via SMS or email, we will assign a tutor and provide quote on fees based on your specific requirements. After confirmation of your acceptance, there is a binding contract for you to complete the 12 lessons. You may, under special circumstances, request for a change of tutor or terminate the lessons only after the first lesson.
In the event that a postponement that results in cancellation or a cancellation is made during or before the first lesson, pro-rated fee for the first lesson will be charged as administrative fee. Similarly, a tutor who has agreed to accept the assignment is committed to complete the full 12 lessons without changing the lesson rate and schedule. After completion of the assignment, you and/or the tutor are free to arrange for further lessons, if deemed necessary. We encourage prompt feedback from you of any deviation or dissatisfaction with the arrangement so that we can review your case and make appropriate recommendation.
4.4 Lesson Rates and Schedule
The lesson rates we offer are quoted by the tutors. The rates that we publish on our Website are averages of the quotes over the past six (6) months. Although it serves as a good guide for both students and tutors, we do not guarantee that all tutors would quote within the range. Upon acceptance of the lesson rates and schedule, re-negotiating the terms directly with the tutor is not permitted without prior consultation or knowledge of Absolutely In-Tuned!.
In the event that you re-negotiate for a lower lesson rate directly with the tutor, the original rate agreed with our coordinator will be applicable when computing the commission that we will collect from you. You are also advised to inform us immediately if the tutor tries to re-negotiate the lesson rates or schedule before completion of the four (4) lessons or 12 lessons. If necessary, we will recommend a replacement tutor who will meet your new requirements.
4.5 Agent/Registration Fee
For lesson assignment, a one-time agent/registration fee of S$40 is chargeable and such fee will be made known during the lesson proposal quotation. In the event that a replacement teacher is required, no additional registration fee will be charged. However, under such circumstances, Absolutely In-Tuned! reserve the rights to consult both the tutor and student to ascertain the reason(s) for the request of change before any further action is recommended.
4.6 Tutor’s Commission
For our coordinating efforts, Absolutely In-Tuned! charge our tutors a commission of 50% or 30% of their earnings for a four (4) lesson or 12 lesson assignment respectively. The commission will be pre-determined between us and the tutor.
4.7 Payment of Lesson Fees and Commission
In addition to the agent/registration fee, you will be required to pay lesson fees based on the number of hours of lessons given by the tutor. Should you decide to stop after the first lesson, you are only required to pay for that lesson.
If you have already confirmed a lesson verbally or via SMS/email, you are liable to pay one (1) full lesson fee even if the first lesson has not been taken. Lesson fees are expected to be paid after every four (4) lessons, or otherwise agreed between you and the tutor.
For the first four (4) lessons or 12 lessons (in the case of a 12-lesson promotional sign-up), we will be collecting the lesson fees directly from you. The tutor is not allowed to collect the payment on our behalf unless directed by us. You can start paying the tutor directly from the 5th lesson or 13th lesson onward respectively. Should you decide to pass our commission to the tutor and in the event of default by the tutor, you will be liable for our losses regardless of whether you are able to re-claim the money from the tutor.
Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer to our designated account. It is your responsibility to keep a copy of the bank receipt as proof of payment. The due date for fee payment on the commission portion will be stated in the email confirmation upon your acceptance of our lesson offer. You will be given a grace period of one (1) to two (2) weeks after the due date to remit the fees. However, in the event that the payment is not received by us within 40 days from the due date, an additional agent fee of S$100 will be imposed together with the commission.
4.8 Location of Lessons
By default, lessons will be held at the student’s residence. However, you have the option to indicate other suitable location or at the tutor’s residence, subject to his/her agreement. Lesson fees shall be paid in advance regardless of location of lessons.
4.9 First Lesson
Upon acceptance of the tutor assigned to you, the date and time of the first lesson must be fixed and adhered to. You are advised to check the tutor’s NRIC and relevant certificates if we are unable to provide scanned copies. It is your responsibility to inform us of any postponement at least 48 hours before the commencement of the first lesson, unless it is under extenuating circumstances such as sudden illness etc.
4.10 Cancellation of Assignment or Lesson
You are obliged to inform the lesson coordinator in-charge or the tutor if you wish to postpone/cancel a lesson or the lesson assignment. In the event that you postpone or cancel a lesson with less than four (4) hours’ notice before the start of each lesson, you shall be liable to pay a fee for loss time of at least S$20 or up to a maximum of S$100 (depending on the waiting time at the student’s location of lessons) plus any transport charge incurred by the tutor. The amount payable will be decided by the coordinator as he/she is the neutral party. The student shall pay this amount in cash immediately on the tutor’s next visit. If it is the last lesson due to the end of the assignment or premature cancellation, the student is obliged to make a bank transfer directly to the tutor’s or the lesson coordinator’s designated account. If such payment is not made after 21 days from the day of occurrence, the student is liable for an additional minimum fee of S$100, levied as our agent coordinating fee. Failure to pay will give the agency or tutor the rights to submit a legal claim of the total amount liable through the Small Claims Tribunal or Subordinate Court.
4.11 Tutor Information
Absolutely In-Tuned! shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience due to misrepresentation by the tutor. We also do not guarantee the accuracy of the tutor’s information although validation will be conducted in our best endeavour. We would appreciate your help if you note inaccuracy in any of the information provided.
4.12 Shortlisted Tutors
Absolutely In-Tuned! Website provides a shortlist function where you can submit a list of preferred tutors whom you have identified from our database. We will try but cannot guarantee that you will be assigned your preferred tutor(s) due to availability or other reason(s).
4.13 Lesson Monitoring
We may monitor the lessons for the first four (4) weeks by sending SMS reminders and making calls to ensure that the scheduled lessons are conducted on time and in a satisfactory manner.
4.14 Feedback
Feedback shall be gathered from the student as well as the parent, where the latter is the main point of contact on an optional basis. We may randomly do a feedback session over the phone once every two month until the student’s final examination. This will enable us to intervene in a timely manner in the event of any negative feedback.
4.15 Disclaimer
We are not liable to act as an arbitrator or mediator should any conflict or disagreement arise between you and the tutors. However, we are always prepared to offer our views and suggestions.
5. FOR COORDINATORS
As coordinators employed by Absolutely In-Tuned!, you shall be committed to serving as a point of contact between our students and the tutors whenever required. You shall abide strictly to Absolutely In-Tuned! Privacy Policy.
Your earnings will be based on a percentage of the commission levied on the assigned tutors, the quantum of which will be determined prior to your employment. We reserve the rights to vary the percentage at any time.
As coordinators, you are not allowed to edit, copy, forward or use the tutors’ profile except for the purpose of coordinating Absolutely In-Tuned! lessons. You are also not allowed to use or disclose the tutors’ profile to secure lessons assignments which are not under our jurisdiction. In the event of a breach of the terms and conditions of appointment, you will be liable for a fine of up to S$5,000 and immediate dismissal.
6. PARTNER SCHOOLS / BUSINESS PARTNERS
Absolutely In-Tuned! is an agency who represents several music schools. Our role is basically to assist by referring students to your schools. The process involves gathering preliminary information of these students in order to match the teachers appropriately and promptly to the students and therefore ensuring that the student’s goals / objectives are met. Our pricing and promotional programs must be identical and current to what the schools offer.
As partner schools / business partners, you are obliged not to edit, copy, forward or use our clients’ data except for the purpose of lesson coordinating operations. You are also not allowed to use or disclose clients’ data to secure lesson assignments which are not under our jurisdiction. Furthermore, you shall act fairly and honestly when disclosing course fees and other relevant information to us so as to enable us to promote your school effectively to potential students.
As partners, we pledge to work closely with you to our mutual benefit and will under no circumstances deviate from the common practices of good work ethics. In the event of any conflict or malpractice, we reserve the rights to immediately terminate our partnership.

7.1 Links to External Sites and Articles
You may find links to external sites not under our jurisdiction. We include these links in our Websites because they may be useful resources to you. Absolutely In-Tuned! do not guarantee the availability or up time of these external sites and shall not be held responsible for any damage or loss caused through the use of or reliance on the contents, goods or services available on these sites.
7.2 Intellectual Rights
The contents and graphics on our Website are protected by copyrights and other form of proprietary rights.
All materials found on this site must not be used or re-produced by any individual or party outside Absolutely In-Tuned! without prior permission.
7.3 Disclaimer
Visiting and using this site is solely at your own risk. We will not be held liable for any damage, loss or inconvenience resulting from usage of or access to this site.
